Every time a monster manages to reach your wall, it will begin to cause damage to it, decreasing the wall's HP.

The gameplay of this tower defense game is fast-paced and doesn't give you much time. However, you need to take time to strategize your attacks if you want to successfully beat away the monster wave that is coming to destroy your castle. The graphics of Defender aren't the best but they do a good job of presenting the monsters in all their horrific glory. As far as the controls go, they are simple enough for even novices to master. You have to touch the screen to shoot arrows at the invading wave of monsters. The direction of the arrows can be determined by touching the screen at the spot where you want the arrows to land. Apart from arrows, you can cast spells to halt the march of the monsters too.

Defender allows you to upgrade city wall by spending coins. These coins can be earned by completing stages. An upgraded city wall will have a higher HP and will be harder to breach for the monsters. You will need Mana for casting the magic spells that you are offered in this tower defense game. This Mana is generated by magic towers. You can upgrade the magic tower to increase the Mana production. With Mana being produced quickly, you can cast magic spells more often. These magic spells allow you to freeze, paralyze and burn your enemies. You can upgrade the bow mounted atop your castle wall too. The upgraded bow can shoot multiple arrows at the monsters at once.
